We want to thank the Riverside Park's Dept. for approving our park's permit to perform "Love's Labour's Lost" outdoors in Riverside Park later this month. We are the only event the Park's Dept. has approved during this pandemic and we understand it's due to our safety protocols that we submitted to keep our audience and actors safe and our 17 year relationship with them. For this opportunity, we are grateful to the Park's Dept. When we moved forward with this show a month and a half ago, NYC was in great shape: we flattened the curve and carefully opening up. We were all excited about bringing theater back into the city. But now we're in August and the re-opening has not been as successful as we hoped for. We see the safety protocols that medical experts strongly recommended have not been strictly adhered to and so the Coronavirus is still very active in our city. We really hoped the city would be in a better place by now. Thus, it is with great disappointment to announce that we will not be going forward with this production at this time. We do not wish to risk the health of our actors, our production team, and our audiences. Everyone's safety is our highest priority. We do look forward to performing this show next June when our city is in a better, healthier place. We want to thank Whitney Dearden of the Riverside Conservancy for her support in helping us this summer, Glenn Baggs, our on-site park's superintendent, John-Ross Winter for creating delightful costume boards for our cast, Grace Terdoslavich, our Prop Master and ASM, Theresa Sagan, our Production Manager, and George K. Wells, our graphic designer. Thank you also to Nicholas Martin-Smith for his insights and dedication in directing this truly unique and utterly entertaining production and thank you, Wonderful Cast of Love's Labour's Lost, who worked so hard these last month and a half to get this show ready to go. Thank you, our devoted audiences, for your understanding. And finally, another Thank you to the Park's Dept. who was willing to let us be the only show in town!
With love and respect, Susane.
